From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Color or colour (see spelling differences) is the visual perceptual property corresponding in humans to the categories called red, yellow, blue and others. Color derives from the spectrum of light (distribution of light energy versus wavelength) interacting in the eye with the spectral sensitivities of the light receptors. Color categories and physical specifications of color are also associated with objects, materials, light sources, etc., based on their physical properties such as light absorption, reflection, or emission spectra. By defining a color space, colors can be identified numerically by their coordinates. Because perception of color stems from the varying sensitivity of different types of cone cells in the retina to different parts of the spectrum, colors may be defined and quantified by the degree to which they stimulate these cells. These physical or physiological quantifications of color, however, do not fully explain the psychophysical perception of color appearance. The science of color is sometimes called chromatics. It includes the perception of color by the human eye and brain, the origin of color in materials, color theory in art, and the physics of electromagnetic radiation in the visible range (that is, what we commonly refer to simply as light). GNU Free Documentation License What color should I paint my bedroom that will go with bed set? Q. My sheets striped medium pink and a blue a little darker than sky with a small bit of dark red, and my duvet is a solid, same dark red color. I also have matching red tie shades on my two windows but I have lamps that are hanging from my ceiling over the head of my bed that match the pink and blue in my sheets. I also have cream colored carpet, but that is something that I cant change : / I cant figure out what color would go well with this very different color combination, so please any good suggestions? Answered by Jill - Mon Nov 6 19:09:11 2006 What color of blinds I should buy if I have brown color all my doors and windows color inside my house? Q. I just brought a house and all the windows and the doors are brown color. What color I have to buy for blinds to match? Especially I might have later new curtains for teh windows too? Asked by nat69 - Mon Apr 21 17:26:08 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. I would definitely stay neutral. And by that I mean off white. Most people don't like bright white. It really doesn't matter what color your doors or window trim is. In fact most people do have natural colored wood doors with wood trim. You'll find them at any discount store i.e. Target, Walmart, Shopko, Menard's etc. Happy decorating! Answered by JAP - Mon Apr 21 18:31:14 2008 How do you select and color only certain areas of a cartoon figure's outline using Adobe illustrator?
Q. I have been placing and live tracing my cartoon sketches in illustrator. It is super easy to color the blank areas using the paint bucket, but I can't figure out how to color the original black sketch with the colors that it touches (like part of the outline the hair color, part of the outline the skin color, part of the outline the shirt color, etc) Any suggestions? Asked by marcella-bella - Tue May 26 09:23:38 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. You would have to break up the outline into constituent parts so you have one for hair colour, one for shirt etc. To do that you first expand your live trace, duplicate it on another layer and remove the parts that are not to be coloured, you will then need to join the paths that are left (otherwise it will fill from the two open points), then apply the colour you want and move on to the next section.
