What hairstyle works with dark turquoise prom gown?
Q. I have fair skin, blond hair, and blue eyes and want to know what hairstyle I should get for my gown for prom. My dress is criss-cross neck, dark turquoise color with purple/green/dark blue beading all-over. I also want to show off the back of my dress so I was thinking an updo but I'm not sure what kind of updo looks best, I don't want to take away from the dress. Any help is appreciated! :)

A. Since your hair is bright and the dress is dark, you should go ahead with an updo. You don't want the blond and the dark turquoise to clash. The dress sounds cute though through mental picture. you should find some cute beaded chinese hair chopsticks also!

What girls tie would match both a very dark turquoise and a dark pink shirt?
Q. I'm going to buy a tie from but I'm not quite sure the look would be good on me--so I'm only buying one now! What color do you think would match both? How does burgundy sound? I should elaborate--the dark pink is really more of a dark hot pink. Also: what do you think about black and dark blue? Would champagne look cheesy?

A. Purplish-red lip stick, and a brilliant blue (bright but not "baby blue") eyeshadow. Try some concealer if you want (2 shades darker than your skin tone is best). If you want to feel creative try green eyeshadow and a neutral brownish-purple lipstick. with a dark red (almost black) eyeliner

Would turquoise contacts look okay on someone with very dark brown eyes? Would the darkness show through?
Q. My friend has very, very dark brown eyes (nearly black) and would like to try turquoise-coloured contact lenses. Would the dark colour of her eyes show through the turquoise, or would it be okay? She's also thinking about dark green. Would that be better? Would her dark eyes show through the dark green contacts? She has long red hair and a rather pale complexion. Which colour do you think would suit her best? Thank you very much.

I want to wear red lipstick with my dark turquoise colored dress...?
Q. It has a lil black lacing on it too. Do you think it will look good? If not, should I wear a different color lipstick with it and if so, what color?

A. Choose a red that will compliment your skin and hair and eyes, also if your dark turquoise dress has more of a blue/purple cast, you should wear a cool red lipstick, if your turquoise dress has more of a yellow/green cast, then wear an warm red. If you don't know what i mean, try holding up a royal blue, or primary yellow piece of paper up to your dress, the one that seems to bring out the color or compliment it more is the one you should go with in choosing a lipstick color. It will probably take some trial and error If you stop by a department store makeup counter, the sales person/makeup artist can point you in the right direction, and give you some samples to try. A lot of them will do all your makeup for free ( I made 2 appts.… [cont.]

what can you describe about dark turquoise colour ?
Q. person character ?
Asked by cheepmy - Wed May 14 04:30:09 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you are referring to the outdated and silly idea that purple=regal or snobby and pink= girlie and blue=serene and brown=earthy ...find a new hobby. They are simply colours. you should judge a person's character on their words and actions and not by any type of colour profiling including the colour of their clothes. The deep turquoise, also known as teal, is a colour flattering to people with warm complexions and neutral complexions. It's not a good choice if one is sallow or too yellow, and people with blue-ish undertones to their skin can look even bluer. Very pale people will look ashen in deep teals. It's an excellent colour also for tan, bronze, and deep brown skin colours. It looks best enhanced with antique gold and bronze… [cont.]

A. If you want the turquoise color to be true, you will need to cover the dark blue with a white primer. Get a good quality white paint/primer, because you will need a lot of white pigment to cover the dark blue paint. An alternative is to cover the dark blue paint with a white surfacing wallpaper layer. This method is fast and reasonably inexpensive. It has the advantage of complete coverage, speed, and covers cracks and imperfect surfaces.
